In reply to carrie. It needs the fat as well. Canned coconut milk is creamier. But you can try with cashews too. Any probiotic works as long as it has lactobacillus in it.

Yikes, I did not read the recipe right and used an entire can of coconut milk. Will this ever ferment? Is it totally ruined??

Can I use non-canned coconut milk, just regular dairy free milk? Or is the canned coconut milk a must because of the creaminess/fat content? is it possible to make it with cashews instead? is there a minimum strength you’d recommend for the probiotic? Would it be possible to make this into a hard cheese by adding some sort of thickener? Sorry for all the questions!!

In reply to Ramona. Buna! Da, la orice farmacie. Eu iau probiotice cu lactobcilus acidophilus de obicei pt "lactate" vegane. Sunt ok si cele cu bifidobacterium (nu stiu daca asa se scrie dar era ceva cu bifidum). Incearca Probiorem.
