I am having this same issue I followed step 1 above but here is not an option for Choose where to get apps There is Share across devices App execution aliases Archive apps Related settings Uninstall updates How to install a program Hi I just was able to turn off S mode on my new laptop I went to file explorer and typed regedit in the bar it prompted me to go to a site and I was able to turn off S mode It is off now and I am able to install apps not from the store Choose where to get apps now appears in Apps Advanced App Settings and it is set to Anywhere
