Deleting the installscript vdf file didn t work as a new one was just generated so I emptied it and changed permissions to read only Changing the permissions alone wasn t sufficient to fix it on Linux might work on Windows I also changed the owner of the file to root But it doesn t seem to solve things I explored which file was being reacquired using the same process mentioned in that forum thread and it is even the same file as the OP It s the installscript vdf in the steamapps common rage folder Anyone have any ideas
