I ve been using S3D for quite some time now Although I had reservations about the added cost of upgrading from V4 to V5 I still chose to pay for it because of how valuable V4 was to me I m pleased with the addition of V5 especially with the new features in 5 1 0 However I find it challenging to find detailed information on how to use these new features particularly the ironing There aren t universal best settings for this as with many things in 3D printing it will depend on your printer filament etc However some advice Use 3 to 5 top and bottom Solid Layers in the Layer tab Increase your Extrusion Multiplier until the top is smooth and doesn t have holes Do not print with a raft instead look to print on top of something like PET or Kapton tape

Hey guys I use extra restart distance negative on the start of perimeters after a retraction to help prevent small blobs at the beginning of a print loop This works great for your typical travel movements however sometimes as a part gets taller the details become smaller or you get to a cross section with a lot of small cross sectional areas so retractions become very frequent Hello I have assembled and been using a Modix for over a year and may be able to help The manual is generally very good but some of the pictures may be a bit confusing It is helpful to have a decent metric capable caliper available I also found a high quality inch metric tape measure on the McMaster website 1 The allen wrenches included with my kit were only slightly
