Was it out of the lab or transmitted from an animal? Flash request from WHO on coronavirus
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), called for more studies after the publication of the report on the field research conducted in Wuhan, China between January 14 and February 10 by an international team tasked with investigating the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak.
DID IT OUT OF THE LABORATORY?
In the report, it was stated that Covid-19 was the most likely scenario for transmission from bats to humans through another animal, while it was explained that it is extremely unlikely that the virus would leak from the laboratory. Saying that research should be handled with further studies, Ghebreyesus said, “With WHO, all hypotheses are possible. This report is a very important beginning, but not the end. We have not yet found the source of the virus and we must continue to follow the science.”
