I m designing a series of aides memoire for my colleagues to contain key details about our legal powers I m working on one version to be printed in business card format and another to be printed either digital or offset on plastic credit card style cards There s a fair bit of text to fit in even once it s all trimmed down There is no standard size for such thing Font size also differs per font since readability per font is very different It depends on the general design of the card as well For most fonts I would say 6 7 is too small though I like to stick around 9 10 but this again depends on the font and the amount of information I need to put on the card

I can t really comment on a standard size but is this greeting card intended to be printed If so it will probably be printed on a home printer on A4 or Letter paper so the design should work with those sizes Either a large half fold card or a quarter or tri fold Otherwise it doesn t really matter since it will only be viewed on screen Something to note if this is a one time download and you don t have the option of re requesting the logo at a different size at a later date then simply request it at the largest size possible This means you ll be able to use it again at a larger size if needs be Having too large an image is never a problem a too small image always is
When I print it in a A4 paper size its dimension is 40 mm X 14 mmbut when printed in CR80 Cards smaller paper size it s size is 25mm X 9mm The barcode in the A4 paper is scanning well but barcodes in CR80 cards doesnt It is because the barcode size shrinks to fit the page and thus distorting the barcodes Export to pdf use bleed settings no crop marks Create new document 8 5 x 11 no margin no bleed Import Full bleed pdf Click on upper right box on Reference box Set corner to 0 0 and 0 0 Add Layer 2 Create business card size box on new layer Align to center both vertically and horizontally Group objects on separate layers Goto Edit

There isn t really a standard size for this kind of thing and even if there was there are very good creative reasons to do something non standard The crucial thing about save the date cards and invitations etc is that they need to fit in an envelope so your first step would be to find out about envelopes that are available and that you Print out both sides of the card then cut out the cards Get a clean sheet of paper and cut a hole in it the same size as the card Tape the cards into the hole in the paper back to back so that one card is visible on each side of the paper Duplex copy in color and cut out your two sided card
